My Story

Hi! My name is Kira Vozzola, and I’m the owner and creator of Polaura Glass Co. The name “Polaura” is derived from the Polar Aurora – another term for the Aurora Borealis or the Northern Lights. Born in Alaska, and after a couple moves, I settled in Las Vegas, NV, when I was 5 years old. My now husband, Eric, and I traveled up to Alaska in 2019, where he proposed to me under the Aurora Borealis. So, naturally, I wanted to combine that love into the art that I love to create.

My greatest appreciation I have for my art is the glass itself. I hand-pick every sheet of glass based on its color, pattern, and texture – I love the beauty in almost every sheet! I enjoy creating simplified designs for my finished pieces so I can showcase the different characteristics of the glass that I love.

My stained glass sun catchers and jewelry are all cut, ground, copper foiled, soldered, and polished by hand. Each piece that I create is unique and one-of-a-kind. I love to be as sustainable as possible with my craft, so I upcycle my stained glass scrap pieces in different ways, such as casting them into practical resin objects.

I’m excited for you to watch me bring this lost art back to life, and with a modern look!
